Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 18, 2026
1. Introduction
SyncGear ("we," "our," or "us") provides a Shopify application that synchronizes product listings and orders between Shopify and Reverb.com. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
By installing or using SyncGear, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Store Information
When you install SyncGear, we receive and store basic information about your Shopify store, including:
- Your Shopify store domain
- Store name and contact information
- Shopify access tokens required for API communication
2.2 Reverb Account Information
To enable syncing, you provide a Reverb.com personal access token. We store:
- Your Reverb API token (encrypted with AES-256-GCM encryption)
- Your Reverb username and connection status
2.3 Product and Listing Data
We retrieve and store data about your Reverb listings to enable the import and sync features, including:
- Product details (title, make, model, description, condition)
- Pricing and shipping information
- Product images (URLs only)
- Inventory quantities and SKUs
- Listing status (live, ended, sold)
2.4 Order and Activity Data
We process order information from both Shopify and Reverb to keep inventory in sync. We also maintain an activity log of sync events, imports, and connection changes with timestamps.
2.5 Billing Information
Subscription and billing are managed entirely through Shopify. We store your plan name and billing cycle dates but do not process or store payment card information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Import your Reverb product listings into your Shopify store
- Synchronize inventory and orders between Shopify and Reverb.com
- Automatically end Reverb listings when items sell on Shopify (and vice versa) to prevent double-selling
- Display your sync activity, credit usage, and connection status within the app
- Manage your subscription and credit allocation
- Troubleshoot issues and provide customer support
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with:
- Shopify — through their Admin API to create and manage products, inventory, and orders in your store
- Reverb.com — through their API to read your listings and orders, and to end listings when items are sold
These integrations are essential to the core functionality of SyncGear and only transmit data necessary for syncing operations.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- Reverb API tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption with 256-bit keys
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS encrypted connections
- Database access is restricted and secured
- We follow security best practices for application development and deployment
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only as long as SyncGear is installed on your Shopify store. When you uninstall SyncGear:
- All your data — including your store information, Reverb credentials, synced listings, and activity logs — is permanently deleted within 48 hours
- Products already imported to your Shopify store remain in your store (they are your products)
- Reverb listings are not affected by uninstallation
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your store
- Disconnect your Reverb account at any time from the Settings page, which removes your stored Reverb credentials
- Delete all your data by uninstalling SyncGear from your Shopify store
- Request a copy of your stored data by contacting us
8. Cookies and Tracking
SyncGear does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Session cookies required by Shopify for authentication are managed by the Shopify platform. We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking tools within the app.
9. Children's Privacy
SyncGear is a business tool intended for use by Shopify store owners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of SyncGear after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
